East Asia

My first visit to East Asia in 2013 was planned with one goal in mind – culture shock; however, I found far more – a kaleidoscope of experiences both humbling and exhilarating. I spent time drifting along the Mekong Delta in a wooden boat, trekked through the jungles of Chiang Mai with my brother, navigated Hanoi’s motorbike chaos, stood in awe beneath Tokyo’s neon signs with not an English word in sight, and watched the cherry blossoms fall like snow with the community in Osaka. East Asia’s people radiate vitality, its traditions are unforgettable, and all the stories from here are simply impossible to explain.
